Please read if any of the following conditions apply:

  • cold sores- lip blush can trigger a cold sore outbreak during the healing process. this will disrupt the pigment and can cause scarring and other undesired outcomes. your doctor may prescribe an oral antiviral medication like valtrex or a generic substitute 48 hours before your procedure to prevent cold sores from occuring.

  • trichotillomania - you will be expected not to pick at any scabs or flakes that form during the entire healing process. it’s going to be very challenging for you, but if you cannot control your picking behaviors, you will not have a good healed result and could cause damage to your skin including scarring and infection! be honest with yourself if this healing process is something that you can handle. you are expected not to touch your brows at all for at least 2 weeks.

  • oily skin - please note that healed results cannot be guaranteed for microblading on oily skin types. I always recommend adding shading for oily skin types/larger pores around the brow area. ombre & powder brows are an excellent choice for oily skin types.

  • excessive caffeine/alcohol consumption - you are required to refrain from consuming caffeine and alcohol at least 24 hours before your procedure. failure to do so will have negative impacts on healed results, and can increase swelling and tenderness.

  • allergies to lidocaine/tetracaine/epinephrine - we can still perform the procedure without anesthetic. please be aware of your pain tolerance.

Lip Blush Post Care

AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE:

  • apply ice packs or cold compress for 10 to 15 minutes every hour for the first 4-8 hours to reduce swelling

  • For the first 48 hours, avoid spicy & raw foods

  • For the first 48 hours, drink exclusively from straws and cut food into small pieces. do not eat/drink anything hot (soup/coffee/tea) and do not open mouth wide or bite into anything large (like an apple or burrito)

  • no soap, cleanser, toothpaste, etc on the area for 7-10 days. This is very important to retain your pigment. Apply an extra layer of ointment, and cover your lips with a clean soft tissue and carefully brush and rinse your teeth and mouth as to not disturb the pigment. Use a minimal amount of toothpaste and mouthwash and prevent any from getting on your lips.

  • NEVER pick at your scabs. DO NOT peel the scabs off before they are ready to shed naturally. You will pull the pigment off with the scab. DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the area under any circumstances.

  • all cleansing should be done with a clean Q tip dipped in cool purified water. Gently dab the area, do not rub in any way.

  • Apply the ointment to the area (gently) regularly to keep the lips from becoming too dry. DO NOT LET THE AREA DRY OUT. check your lips often so to see if you need to reapply the ointment. do not rub the lips as you apply the ointment.

  • apply an extra coat of ointment before bed, teeth brushing, washing the face, etc. and keep all water away from the tattoo

  • For 7-10 days, avoid any friction or stretching of the lips

  • For at least 2 weeks, avoid the sun & water (this includes chlorinated, fresh & salt water)

  • For at least 2 weeks, avoid facial and dental procedures

  • DO NOT receive any cosmetic treatments to the lips during the 4-6 week healing process. This includes microneedling, lasers, chemical peels, acupuncture, brightening/anti-aging treatments, collagen / ‘lip plumping’ treatments or products, and injectables of any kind

I recommend sleeping on a satin/silk pillowcase and washing it daily for the first 7-10 days

  • Not taking proper care of the procedure area after the treatment.

  • Sunbathing or using sun beds.

  • Using Retin A creams or any other products that contain chemical exfoliants, AHA's, Glycolic or Vitamin A.

  • Certain skin treatments such as microdermabrasion or chemical peels.

**DO NOT WORKOUT/SWEAT DURING THE 14 DAYS OF HEALING, YOU WILL RUIN YOUR BROWS****

**NO MAKEUP ON YOUR BROWS FOR 30 DAYS***

Day 1: GENTLY pat your brows with a clean, soft cotton pad damp with distilled water throughout the day. Apply ointment before bedtime. Do not drench your face with water

Day 2-14: Do not allow brows to get wet or sweat!! Apply ointment 1-2 times a day (thin layer, rice grain amount with clean q tip or applicator) so brows don’t crust or scab. Peeling is normal.

I recommend sleeping on a satin/silk pillowcase and washing it daily for the first 7-10 days

Remember, with the proper prep and aftercare routine, you’ll have the best results with your procedure.

Not taking proper care of your brows puts you at risk not only for pigment loss, but for scarring and infection as well.

Brows will appear dark during the healing process but they WILL FADE.

If an infection or adverse reaction occurs at the sight of your tattoo, contact your personal physician for treatment

•Stay away from the sun!

•Do not swim, go to a sauna, or workout

•Do not pick scabs or scratch your brows, it can cause color loss

I recommend sleeping on a satin/silk pillowcase and washing it daily for the first 7-10 days
